4th Workshop on Inelastic Neutron Spectrometers

Following from the previous Workshop on Inelastic Neutron Spectrometer (WINS) meetings held in Tokai, Japan (WINS 2004), Cairns, Australia (WINS 2005) and Berlin (WINS 2006), WINS 2009 will be a forum for members of the international neutron scattering community to discuss new and recent developments in the following fields associated with Inelastic Neutron Scattering:

  • Instrumentation
  • Data analysis and software techniques
  • Sample environment equipment   

Speakers at WINS 2009 include:

  • Kenji Nakajima (JSNS, Japan)
  • Ferenc Mezei (HMI, Germany)
  • Toby Perring (ISIS, United Kingdom)

WINS 2009 will be held on Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd at the Pollard Conference Center of the Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) building in Oak Ridge, USA, as a satellite of the International Conference on Neutron Scattering being held in Knoxville, USA, from May 3rd to 7th, 2009. The meeting is being organized by the Triple Axis and Time of Flight Inelastic Groups of the Neutron Sciences Directorate of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in association with the organizers of the previous meetings.

Registration for the Workshop is open until April 20th and accommodation at the discounted rate is available until April 4. Please note that the number of places for both registration and accommodation is limited and either may have to close earlier than these dates. All attendees are requested to make a presentation at the meeting (see Registration page).
