- Defense Acquisition University
DOD offers several courses on the development and application of specifications and standards, as well as several related subjects. Non-DoD people may attend these classes on a space available basis. These courses are available free-of-charge to both defense personnel and to individuals from the private sector and other government agencies. - OSHA Office of Training and Education

- American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
ANSI offers standards-related training programs for both newcomers and veterans alike. Also see www.standardslearn.org, a portal to online standards and conformity assessment education sponsored by ANSI. - ASTM International
ASTM's Technical and Professional Training Courses are continuing technical education programs for industry and government. - ASTM International
ASTM also has an introduction to the world of standards developed for students including several learning modules which provide a quick overview of standards and the standardization process. - World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)
Offers a free online training course on how the Web is standardized. - American Society for Quality (ASQ)
ASQ Offers training in quality-related standards. ASQ's e-Learning Center offers Web-based courses on a variety of quality topics, including standards. - Center for Public Health Education, a Division of The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF)
The Center's courses offer a comprehensive curriculum on topics related to NSF product standards, quality and environmental management systems implementation and maintenance, and food safety. - Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc (IEEE)
IEEE offers series of presentations designed to give standards developers the most up-to-date information on the IEEE Standards process and how it works. - American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE)
This ASHRAE site provides training for participants in the standards development process. This training is available for individual self training purposes. - Standards Engineering Society (SES) - A Guide to Standards
SES offers an introductory course covering the development and use of industry standards, the role of conformity assessment systems, and the importance of standards to global trade. The course helps those new to the world of standards to gain an understanding of the basics and provides a refresher for any standards professional. It covers essential information such as what are standards and why are they used, the various types of standards, the standards development process, locating and obtaining standards, and strategic standardization. The course is aimed at corporate management, engineers, government and public administration staff, standards developing organization staff and volunteers, consumers, and faculty and students.

The Center was formed for the purpose of creating global standardization education programs for university graduate students, associations, corporations, government departments and agencies; and for conducting research programs related to global standardization. - Underwriters Laboratories
