For three weeks, the Small Business Administration (SBA) has been collecting men's and women's business attire in an agency-wide effort to donate clothes to unemployed Americans seeking to re-join the workforce. This collection has been going on at both the Washington, DC headquarters and local field offices across the country.
At the headquarters, employees are collecting clothing for two local organizations serving unemployed populations: “Dress for Success” and “MenzFit.” They will be donating199 items for women and 89 items for men – enough clothing to outfit 61 women and 13 men.
This means that employees at SBA headquarters will help give approximately 74 people in the DC metro area the boost of confidence they need to walk into a job interview and hopefully re-enter the workforce.
SBA field offices across the country are doing similar collections and will be donating to "Dress for Success" (where available) and other equivalent organizations.
In addition to these initial donations, SBA is actively seeking opportunities to continue their assistance.
