Join host, Ivette Torres, Associate Director for Consumer Affairs, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), for the May 2009 Road to Recovery Webcast. This webcast will include an examination of recovery-oriented systems of care in the United States and examples of services that have successfully partnered and will address the gaps in service coordination that still need to be addressed to improve collaboration throughout all systems so that individuals in recovery receive comprehensive care.

Dr. Thomas Kirk was first appointed Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) in May 2000. Dr. Kirk's key focus is the design, implementation, financing and management of recovery-oriented healthcare systems. He is considered one of the key leaders in the country on policy, design, funding and outcomes of recovery-oriented systems of care.

The 2009 banners for our 20th Anniversary: Join the Voices for Recovery: Together We Learn, Together We Heal are now posted on our Web site. Low and high resolution banners are available for download and use on your Web sites, t-shirts, banners, among others. Please place the banner on your Web site to link to http://www.recoverymonth.gov/ and bookmark the site on computers in your organization, school, or library to help us reach more people. If you had the previous year’s Recovery Month banner on your site, please update the banner with the 20th Anniversary banners provided.

May 15th Deadline for 2009 Recovery Delegate Applications is Around the Corner!
On September 12, 2009, join the Recovery Month Planning Partners, National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD), A&E Network, Faces and Voices of Recovery, Partnership for a Drug-Free America, and National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors (NASADAD) in New York City to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Recovery Month and participate in the 2nd Annual Recovery Rally and Recovery Delegate Program.
