Time Is Running Out to Submit for the 2009 Ramstad-Kennedy Annual Award Nominations
The Recovery Month Planning Partners have called for nominations for the second annual Ramstad-Kennedy Award for Outstanding Leadership by a Single State Authority Leader. The 2009 award will be presented during the June 4-7, 2009 NASADAD annual meeting in Syracuse, NY. Michael Botticelli, Director of the Bureau of Substance Abuse Services at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health won last year's award. Nominations due March 31, 2009.
Today's Webcast: The Road to Recovery: Join the Voices for Recovery: Together We Learn, Together We Heal
Tune in and join Ivette Torres, Associate Director for Consumer Affairs, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the first Webcast of the 2009 Road to Recovery season. Today's Webcast will look back at Recovery Month events held across the country in 2008 and set the stage for another successful celebration in September 2009. In addition, "Join the Voices for Recovery: Together We Learn, Together We Heal" will help guide individuals, organizations, and communities as they plan and host events to raise awareness about the benefits of addiction treatment and the rewards of recovery.

The Recovery Month Observance and Events Occur All Year Long!
The Recovery Month observance is not limited to September. Events can be held all year long to increase the education and understanding of addiction, treatment, and recovery issues. Start planning your events, proclamations, and observance, and post them to http://www.recoverymonth.gov.
