The Library of Congress is providing access to the Early Virginia Religious Petitions for noncommercial, educational and research purposes through the generous cooperation of the Library of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. The original petitions, the microfilm copy of the collection, and associated access aids are held and maintained by the Library of Virginia and have been reproduced here with permission. While the Library of Congress is not aware of any copyrights or other rights associated with this collection, the written permission of any copyright owners and/or other rights holders (such as holders of publicity or privacy rights) is required for reproduction, distribution, or other use of any protected items beyond that allowed by fair use or other statutory exemptions. To request a copy of a religious petition from the Library of Virginia, go to Ordering Materials.

Print out the archives request form and supply the following information:

  1. Full Date of Petition
  2. Name of County
  3. Subject of Petition

NOTE: The Library of Virginia does not accept requests for copies via electronic mail.
