Data Set: National Survey on Drug Use & Health [formerly called the National Household Survey on Drug Abuse (NHSDA)]

Sample Coverage and Dataset Characteristics: 1966-2007; Sample design provides estimates for all 50 states plus the District of Columbia for the years 2005 through 2009.  The respondent universe is the civilian, noninstitutionalized population aged 12 years old or older residing within the United States.  Persons excluded from the survey include persons with no fixed household address.  The 2005 design enables estimates to be developed by State in all 50 States plus the District of Columbia.
