Armed Forces Pest Management Board

Mission

USAEC provides centralized pest management oversight and technical support for the U.S. Army Pest Management Program for Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Regions (except Europe and Korea) and other special installations not currently under IMCOM.

USAEC Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program objectives include:

  • Establish and maintain safe, effective, and environmentally sound IPM programs to prevent or control installation pests and disease vectors that may adversely impact readiness or the welfare of troops and their dependents.
  • Ensure Army pest management programs are operated in compliance with all applicable Department of Defense (DoD) policies, Executive Orders, federal, state, and local statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Incorporate sustainable IPM strategies and techniques in all aspects of Army pest management planning, training, and operations, to reduce pesticide risk and prevent pollution.
  • Enhance readiness by sustaining and improving installation infrastructure and training ranges; serve as a steward against degradation by invasive species, natural enemies and mismanagement.
