  • About Gigi Hyland

    Gigi Hyland was appointed by President George W. Bush to a seat on the National Credit Union (NCUA) Board effective November 18, 2005. Her term expires August 2, 2011.

    Prior to her NCUA Board appointment, Ms. Hyland's career spanned 14 years serving the credit union community.

    When nominated to the NCUA Board, she served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel for Empire Corporate Federal Credit Union in Albany, New York. She previously served concurrently as Vice President, Corporate Credit Union Relations of the Credit Union National Association, Inc. and Executive Director for the Association of Corporate Credit Unions.

    Ms. Hyland began her career as an attorney serving credit unions at the Alexandria, Va., family firm of Hyland & Hyland.

    Ms. Hyland holds a bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary, a JD from George Mason University and an Advanced Diploma in International Law from McGeorge School of Law.

    About John Wade

    John Wade works as a Financial Analyst within SBA’s Office of Financial Assistance in Washington, D.C. This office directs program management activity of all SBA-guaranteed small business loan programs. The Office of Financial Assistance includes the SBA 7(a) Loan Guaranty program, the Certified Development Company program, and the SBA Microloan Intermediary program. Mr. Wade coordinates the approval process for non-traditional lender applicants, including credit unions, in SBA’s 7(a) Loan Guaranty Program. His responsibilities include program development improvements leading to greater private sector participation in the SBA Loan Guaranty Program. He has made SBA program presentations at previous NCUA events around the country and represents the Agency at credit union trade conferences and conference calls relating to credit union participation in SBA lending.

    He has over 14 years of service with the SBA including six years with SBA’s SBIC venture capital program. He holds degrees from the University of Michigan and DePaul University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
