Chairman Rockefeller Applauds President Obama’s First 100 Days In Office
WASHINGTON, DC – Senator John D (Jay) Rockefeller IV (D-WV), Chairman of the U.S. Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s First 100 Days in Office:
“President Obama and his team have proven that they can hit the ground running, from boosting the economy to beginning the process of updating our transportation systems, to moving science and technology out of labs and into American’s everyday lives, to protecting consumers, to improving our role in the world. The American people wanted a change and President Obama has provided both the vision and the determination to deliver just that. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, I am proud to have cleared nineteen of the President’s impressive nominees out of the Committee - I believe these individuals will provide real service to our country. During these times of great turmoil, President Obama has worked to bring all Americans together and I applaud his ability to lead our nation with confidence and honor toward a path of prosperity and promise.”
