The National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) promotes the preservation and use of America's documentary heritage essential to understanding our democracy, history, and culture.

NHPRC Funded Projects

The NHPRC supports a variety of types of projects. Some recent NHPRC awards include:

  • The papers of U.S. Presidents Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, and Ulysses S. Grant. See more Publishing Historical Records Projects.
  • A grant to the Seattle Municipal Archives to process its current backlog, including records of the Office of Civil Rights, the Office of Mayor and City Council, and the Department of Neighborhoods. See more Archival Projects.
  • A SNAP (State and National Archives Partnership) grant to Mississippi that will support emergency preparedness and records preservation in the state's 14 oldest counties. See more Mississippi Grants.
