Dear Mr. Schlueter:

You have asked how can a federal credit union protect itself from liability in processing a postdated check. There is nothing in the FCU Act or NCUA's Regulations concerning post- dated checks. This issue is covered by state law. We recom- mend that you continue consulting with local counsel for a resolution of your problem.
