News from NLM at the MLA meeting in Honolulu

A few tidbits from NLM at the MLA Annual Meeting this year:

10. The Single Citation Matcher in PubMed will not be going away.
9. Changes to PubMed’s look may take place at the end of summer.
8. MedlinePlus will be getting a new look as well. The issue of branding may be addressed. A mobile version of M+ is coming. . .
7. There will be at least one video news story each day in MedlinePlus.
6. MedlinePlus now has a search cloud that displays the top 100 search terms typed into the MedlinePlus search box. Look for the link in the lower right corner.
5. Since last year, there’s a new version of Wiser (4.2). WISER is the system designed to assist first responders in hazardous material incidents.
4. The Medical Library Association 2009 Annual Meeting Theater Presentations are available now.
3. A new version of DOCLINE will be released soon. Serials holdings will have a new look and provide additional functionality.
2. The Emergency Access Initiative (EAI), developed by NLM in cooperation with publishers, will provide access to key journal and book literature in times of emergency. We do not yet have a release date.
1. DailyMed now includes a pill identification feature.
