Abstract: A statement to review the status of the Federal government's IT security with an update on both the government-wide progress realized in fiscal year (FY) 2002, areas of continuing concern and the next steps OMB is undertaking with agencies to continue IT security performance gains. Topics include the Government Information Security Reform (GISRA), Measuring Performance, Six Common Government-wide IT Security Weaknesses From FY 2001, IT Security and E-government Initiatives, Improvements in Critical Infrastructure Protection and Federal Incident Response, and Continuing Efforts to Improve IT Security.
