Abstract: This testimony addresses how the Federal Government is improving the quality of the information it collects, uses, and disseminates, while also reducing the associated burdens that are imposed on the American public. It provides an overview of the Federal Government's need for and use of information, briefly describes OMB's efforts to enhance the quality of information disseminated by agencies, and discusses the challenges of achieving and measuring burden reduction.
