Section 508 – Demystifying How IT and Acquisition Personnel Can Collaborate to Implement the Law

Abstract: This presentation was made by Terry Weaver, Director, IT Accessibility and Workforce Division in GSA’s Office of Governmentwide Policy and her staff member Alex Koudry along with Lesley Field, Policy Analyst, Office of Procurement Policy at the Office of Management and Budget. It outlines Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the requirements found in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and discusses some recent education and training initiatives underway now in the federal government. This is one of two presentations made during a Quarterly IT Forum co-hosted by the IT Workforce Committee of the CIO Council and GSA's Office of Technology Strategy on January 29, 2008 at GSA.
