Abstract: we received over 100 submissions for datasets to be included in Data.gov. We notified those Departments and Agencies whose datasets have been selected for the first launch. As the date for the launch approaches, we want to ensure your Department or Agency had every opportunity to participate in this flagship Open Government initiative. If your agency has not been notified and you would like to nominate additional datasets or tools (Attachment 1) for the Data.gov launch, please complete the attached metadata template (Attachment 2) and submit for consideration by May 15, 2009. The Data.gov MAX Collaboration Site will be our workspace for collecting information about your datasets. It contains that metadata template (Attachment 2), which your staff will be asked to populate with additional datasets that you approve. Your staff will be able to save the template within MAX under a unique name ending in your Department's or Agency's acronym. This way, you will be able to see all your submittals over time and view other Departments and Agencies.
