Abstract:
"This testimony addresses GAOs study, performed from September 2002 to November 2002, of information security audits and evaluations at federal agencies. Significant weaknesses were found in each of the 24 agencies covered by the review in six major areas, pointing to a number of important steps that the administration and the agencies should take to ensure that information security receives appropriate attention and resources and that known deficiencies are addressed. "
