Linda A. Travers currently serves in EPA's Office of Environmental Information (OEI) as the Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator and Deputy Chief Information Officer. In this role, Ms. Travers serves a national leadership role ensuring OEI's support for the Agency's mission to protect public health and the environment by integrating quality environmental information, strengthening partnerships with states and tribes to increase the effectiveness of environmental information, collection and exchange, and to foster information based decision making by providing analysis and access tools to improve environmental decision making by decision makers at all levels.

Prior to this, Ms. Travers served as the Deputy Office Director for the Office of Technology Planning and Operations. In that capacity she was responsible for strengthening EPA’s Information Infrastructure, increasing efficiency, effectiveness and coherence of the information infrastructure through strategic investments in technology, increasing the reliability and integration of installed technology, and enhancing information security.

Before joining the OEI, Ms. Travers served as the Director of the Information Resources for the Office of Pesticide Programs. She directed OPP's information initiatives to prepare for the implementation of the new Food Quality Protection Act. Ms. Travers oversaw the development of an integrated information systems used to evaluate pesticide registration activities.

During her time as the Director of the Information Management Division, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, Ms. Travers directed the implementation of the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) information management and public access requirements. TRI was the first EPA program to establish the public’s right-to-know about environmental conditions in their community. She also participated in developing international guidance on how an inventory of chemical releases can be used to help define environmental conditions in countries around the world.

Ms. Travers obtained her Masters of Public Administration (MPA) from American University with undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland. She resides near the Chesapeake Bay in Calvert County, Maryland. She has two grown children.
