Daniel F. McMillin, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Deputy Chief of Warfighting Integration and Deputy Chief Information Officer, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Mr. McMillin assists in leading five directorates and four field operating agencies consisting of more than 1,800 military and civilian personnel and contractors supporting a portfolio valued at $17 billion. He supports the integration of Air Force warfighting and mission support capabilities by networking space, air and terrestrial assets. Additionally, he oversees the shaping of doctrine, strategy, and policy for all communications and information activities while driving standards for governance, innovation, and architectures for information systems and personnel.

Mr. McMillin entered federal civil service in 1983 as an auditor with the Defense Contract Audit Agency. From 1984 to 1986, he served as an operations and maintenance budget analyst for Naval Air Systems Command, and then as procurement budget analyst for the Office of the Comptroller of the Navy. For the next five years, Mr. McMillin performed duties as Management Support Director and Executive Director at the Naval Plant Representative Office in Melbourne, Australia. He returned to the Pentagon as a budget analyst for the Defense Business Operations Fund in the Office of the Comptroller of the Navy until 1992.

From 1992 to 1997, Mr. McMillin served as Technical Director, then as Deputy Director, for Program Analysis and Financial Management at U.S. Transportation Command. He was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in August 1997 as USTRANSCOM's Deputy Director for Plans and Policy. He was then assigned to Headquarters U.S. Air Force as Associate Director of Programs in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Programs. He was then appointed Director, Policy, Planning and Resources, Office of Warfighting Integration and Chief Information Officer, Secretary of the Air Force, Washington, D.C. Prior to his current assignment, he was the Deputy Director, Air Force Staff, Headquarters US Air Force, Washington, D.C.
