Internships

sealStudents interning for Senator Reed have the opportunity to learn about the legislative process and see firsthand the federal government at work.

Full-time and part-time paid internships are available in both the Rhode Island and Washington, DC offices for fall, spring, early summer, and late summer sessions. Interns must be currently enrolled in college or graduate school.

Candidates should complete an online application (see below) and send a resume and cover letter stating why you want to intern for Senator Reed. Due to the large number of applications received, we are unable to offer an internship to everyone who applies. Preference will be given to Rhode Islanders.

Washington, DC Internships

Interns in the Washington, DC office will research legislative issues, attend briefings and committee hearings, answer constituent inquiries, conduct tours of the Capitol, and provide administrative, legislative, and press support to Senator Reed and his staff.

For more information about interning in the Washington, DC office, please contact Cathy Nagle at (202) 224-4642.

The Washington, D.C. office is accepting applications for Spring 2010.

Rhode Island Internships

An internship in the Providence or Cranston office allows students to see how Senator Reed's work helps Rhode Islanders throughout the state. Interns assist in both research and policy initiatives as well as special projects and events. They also perform various administrative tasks such as greeting guests, drafting correspondence, and sorting mail.

For more information about interning in the Rhode Island offices, please contact Nancy Langrall at (401) 528-5200.
