Rick has worked for the Office of Personnel Management for more than 28 years, with 25 years in the Office of the Director (OD). Having served as the OD Administrative Officer, Deputy Chief and Chief of the Executive Secretariat, and Deputy Chief of Staff, he is the senior career official in the Office of the Director and has worked as a key advisor to eight of OPM’s nine Directors. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he started his OPM career in our Job Information Center followed by service in our Office of Insurance Programs.

As Deputy Chief of Staff, Rick is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Director’s office, including coordination and oversight of the Agency’s document management and decision-making process, and managing OPM’s international affairs responsibilities.

Rick and his wife, Mary, reside in Woodbridge, Virginia. They have two sons.
