SEDS, the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, is a group dedicated to expanding the role of human exploration and development of space. We seek to educate the public in such a way as to attain this goal. We have many ways of doing this, including educational outreach, conferences, and chapter projects.

Congratulations to SpaceX

Posted - July 13th, 2009

Congratulations to SpaceX, Elon Musk, and the numerous SEDS alumni working for SpaceX. Once again you have put the rock into Rocket Science.

The satellite successfully achieved orbit, separated from the launch vehicle, turned on, and communicated with Earth.

Clear skies and good luck with Falcon 9!

The (third) best place to watch a launch.

Posted - June 12th, 2009

So we all know that the best place to watch a shuttle launch is inside the shuttle.

The second best place to watch a launch is from the Cape.

Where's the third best place you may ask?

Right on your computer at:
http://www.spacevidcast.com/live/

The folks at Spacevidcast run THE BEST live feed of the shuttle launches, and space events in general. Much better than NASA TV. PLUS there is a live chat with hundreds of space enthusiasts.

So this launch, skip out on CNN cutting to commercials at T-5. Go to Spacevidcast.com!

Clear skies,

Joshua V. Nelson
