Federal Information Security: Joint Hearing on HR 4791

H.R. 4791 updates the Federal Information Security Management Act to establish new agency requirements for securing personal or sensitive data.

The bill fixes weaknesses identified by recent Oversight Committee investigations into federal data breaches.

2010 Census: Reducing the Undercount in the Hispanic Community

On Monday, July 9, the Subcommittee on Information Policy, Census, and National Archives will hold a field hearing in San Antonio, TX, entitled “2010 Census:  Reducing the Undercount in the Hispanic Community.”  The hearing will examine the Census Bureau’s efforts to use community partnerships and other forms of outreach and education to ensure full participation and an accurate enumeration of the Hispanic/Latino population in the 2010 Census.
