Ed Hunter
Acting Director, CDC - Washington
Ed Hunter represents CDC in Washington before HHS, other Administration officials, and non-governmental entities. He also directs and oversees CDC′s legislative strategy.
Since 2003, Mr. Hunter has been Deputy Director of CDC′s Washington Office. This office is the Washington, DC arm of the CDC Office of the Director, serving as a bridge between CDC and the Washington policy community including the Congress, Administration, and Washington-based health partners.
Mr. Hunter began his career at CDC′s National Center for Health Statistics, most recently serving as the senior policy and planning official for NCHS. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland, and a Master of Arts in Science, Technology, and Public Policy (emphasis in health policy and economics) from George Washington University, along with formal training in epidemiology and public health.
