Analysis Tools

WIP has contributed to the development of various analysis tools, including:

  • HOMER

NREL has developed this micropower optimization model that allows analysts and designers to find the lowest cost combination of renewable energy technologies to meet the power needs of a home, community, or mini-grid.

  • Resource Assessments and Geospatial Toolkits

NREL publishes assessments of renewable energy resources for individual states, regions of the United States, and some countries that are available in mapping and GIS (geographical information system) formats, including a geospatial analysis toolkit.
