Rosen djrosen@comcast.net =========================================================== Position Available Director of the National Institute for Literacy The National Institute for Literacy, a federal government education agency that promotes literacy across the lifespan, seeks a Director to lead the organization. The Director of the Institute is expected to integrate research findings into the Institute's work and assure that it makes exceptional contributions to the field of literacy; improve accountability; manage daily operations; work closely with the Institute's Presidentially appointed Advisory Board and other government agencies; and represent the agency in Congress. Qualifications include extensive knowledge of literacy and education issues and research methods; experience with national policy activities; project management; and the federal budgeting process. An earned doctorate is highly desirable. All applicants are considered without regard to race, religion, color, National origin, sex, political affiliation, age, or any other nonmerit factor.
