Transcript:
Albert Szent-Gyorgyi: One night my wife gave me paprika for dinner, and--we eat it all just as a plant, as it comes. . .
Ralph Moss: Is that right? You eat it as a vegetable, you mean?
ASG: As a vegetable, yes, like radishes or something. Then it occurred to me, this is a plant, the only plant that I never tried, because you couldn't find that in England or America where I worked. And so it was a big dish, and I didn't want to eat it, I didn't feel like eating it, but I didn't have the courage to say so. . .
[laughter]
ASG: But it occurred to me I never tried it, so I told my wife, "I'd better take this to the laboratory and see whether it's any good."
