SUBJ: OFAC Changes to the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List
Since November, the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has amended its list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) at least 20 times. It is, therefore, important for credit unions to check the list frequently at the website listed below or you may obtain the documents by calling the OFAC Fax-on-Demand Service at (202) 622-0077.
Please note, a list of all changes made to the SDN list this year is available at www.treas.gov/offices/enforcement/ofac/sdn/index.html.
In the future, we will remind you quarterly to check for periodic updates and amendments to this list; however, since orders requiring blocking or freezing of assets are effective immediately upon publication on OFAC’s website, you should periodically check the site at www.treas.gov/ofac.
