The Division of Extramural Research

The Division of Extramural Research (DER) provides scientific administration and management of the National Human Genome Research Institute's grants, cooperative agreements and contracts programs. In consultation with the broad scientific community, the DER supports funding for research, training and career development in genomics at sites across the nation. The DER is also the locus for international collaborations at the National Institutes of Health for genomic research.
