Reading Components

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act establishes a definition of reading  that guides the Institute’s activities on reading instruction in kindergarten through third grade.  The definition identifies five components of reading:  phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and text comprehension.
