The purpose of the business meeting is to consider the nominations of James J. Markowsky, to be an Assistant Secretary of Energy (Fossil Energy), Warren F. Miller, Jr., to be an Assistant Secretary of Energy (Nuclear Energy) and Director of the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste, Anthony M. Babauta, to be an Assistant Secretary of the Interior (Insular Areas), and Jonathan B. Jarvis, to be the Director of the National Park Service. The Committee will also consider H.R. 1275 and H.R. 2938. This business meeting is open to the press and the public but will not be webcast or audiocast.

The purpose of the hearing is to consider the nominations of John R. Norris, to be a Member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Jose Antonio Garcia, to be Director of the Office of Minority Economic Impact, Department of Energy, and Joseph G. Pizarchik, to be Director of the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, Department of the Interior.
