Dear Donna
I'm not sure how many NIFL workplace list members are based in the UK, but
I'd be very grateful if you could consider posting the announcement below.
List members (of any nationality) can sign up through the website to receive
our project newsletters and updates if they wish.
Best wishes
Dominic

LLN Evaluation Toolkit Trialling (UK)
The WoLLNET project ( www.wollnet.org <http://www.wollnet.org/> ) aims to
create a web-based, user-friendly Toolkit to enable employers, providers and
unions to evaluate the impact of workplace literacy, language and numeracy
(LLN) training programmes on learning, individual development and
organisational performance.
As part of this the project is looking to arrange trialling of the Toolkit
within a number of organisations of different sizes and in different sectors
in the UK.
The first phase of trialling will take place from the beginning of February
until the end of April next year. In that time each trial organisation will
be asked to use the Toolkit to evaluate the impact of at least one recently
completed LLN learning programme.
In particular, the Toolkit's ability to support qualitative and quantitative
evaluation of following will be trialled:
o learner reactions to the training
o learning outcomes (including assessment and qualification data)
o impact on employee development and job behaviour (including job
competencies)
o impact on organisational performance (including Key Performance
Indicators).
Participants will be provided with ongoing support for the trialling,
including an initial briefing meeting to be held in London in early
February.
If you feel that your organisation, or an organisation you work with, may be
able to offer a suitable trial site, please complete the short Trialling
Response Form (Word), which you can open directly by clicking on the
following link:
http://www.skillsforwork.co.uk/documents/Trialling%20Response%20Form.doc
Alternatively, you can download the form from the webpage:
http://www.skillsforwork.co.uk/trialling
Please complete and return the form by Friday November 28th.
If you need any more information about the trialling, please contact the
project manager, Dominic Rapley: dominic at skillsforwork.co.uk
