available!

Dear Colleagues,

Please find the transcripts from our recent guest discussion on
Transitions in Adult Basic Education at:

http://www.nifl.gov/lincs/discussions/assessment/09transitions_full.html

I must say that the exercise was quite a stimulating intellectual
challenge; I needed to study the posts as if for a final exam J. But
this allowed me to re-read the discussion with great intent, and I
really appreciated the richness of it, and all the ideas and materials
shared.

A few things:

I did some editing of the posts for grammatical accuracy and clarity.

In order to divide up the discussion into manageable parts, a few posts
in different threads are repeated in order to make the conversation flow
and make sense to the reader.

A number of posts were removed as they were mostly brief requests for
info and did not add to the content at hand.

In the interest of managing the length of the transcripts, I trimmed
many of the signature lines to the person's name and institutional or
state identification (if this was provided).

The complete posts are in the NIFL Assessment archives, found at:

http://www.nifl.gov/pipermail/assessment/2009/date.html

If you would like to track down any of the authors who engaged in the
discussion, go to the archives and use the Sort function by entering the
person's name.

Thanks once again to our panel of guests, and to all subscribers who
posted and made the discussion interesting and useful.
