Yuri -
Terry Davis at LSU, whom I regard as one of the preeminent U.S. researchers in health literacy, recently completed the development of a health/self management resource guide for diabetic patients.

You can order the book and view related content at: http://diabetes.acponline.org/ (enter the patient portal "side;" there's also a counterpart for clinicians.

Is this the kind of thing you have in mind? I'm not sure if you're looking for patient education materials that are generic, or material specific to diabetes.

Good luck.

Sorry for changing the topic discussion, but can somebody share some
feedback as to what type of health literacy resources will be good for a
diabetic conference, which will target the lay community (diabetic
diagnosed)with low education and economic status in the border Texas
region?

I wanted to share about an alliance between the CDC and a couple of
other groups. I believe the idea is to promote healthy habits at the
local level by offering incentives for all communites around the nation.
This will bring information to people where they live make it more
accessible.
