To the first question, I would say that health care is becoming a lot
more complex, so health literacy is a much bigger issue. People may be
more educated than in years past, but their health literacy may not be
keeping up with the complexity of the health-related information they
need to understand in order to make good decisions about their health.

What are current trends in health literacy?

I'm not sure how to answer these two questions:

1) Is health literacy in the U.S. decreasing?

2) What are current trends in health literacy? For example, is it safe
to say that medical libraries are forming more partnerships with public
libraries in health literacy initiatives?

Thank you.
