A report was released in October 2007 by John Vernon, Ph.D, at the
University of Connecticut, putting the figure at $106 billion to $236
billion annually. Here's a link:

Subject: [HealthLiteracy 1881] Health Care Costs

Can anyone point me to a source where I can access the amount that low
level literacy "costs" in terms of health care dollars per year. In
other words, how much is spent in the US on health care that is directly
attributable to low level literacy. Next, where can I find this number
broken down state by state?
