Hi Everyone,
I'm passing on this message from Linda Johnston-Lloyd. (See below) The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) won an award for their free online Health Literacy Course:
Unified Health Communication 101: Addressing Health Literacy, Cultural Competency, and Limited English Proficiency
http://www.hrsa.gov/healthliteracy/training.htm
I encourage health providers out there to give it a try, and promote this in your organizations. It takes about 5 hours of self-paced time and can qualify for these credits: CEU/CE, CHES, CME, CNE.
Spread the word!
Julie

Dear Colleagues,
Since you have an interest in health literacy and communication, I
thought you would like to know...
That the HRSA Unified Health Communication Training Course wins
National Association of Government Communicators Award!
"National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC) awards
underscore the association's high standards of professionalism in public
service. An annual Distinguished Service Award bestows the
organization's highest honor on a member; Awards of Excellence recognize
government agencies or individuals for significant achievement; and
Service Awards are presented to members for noteworthy service"
Congratulations to all who have contributed to the success of Unified
Health Communication. We did it! We competed with over 600 entries!
Linda
