Company Description: Wolf Creek Feedyard in Perryton, Texas, raises
cattle and manufactures cattle feed. The company began in 1998 and has an
employee stock ownership plan. Today, the 43 employees own 36 percent of the

Road to SHARP: Walt Garrison said that once the employees and management
saw the benefits and how safety affects the bottom line, it wasn't hard and it
took about a year to implement changes in the day-to-day operations. He said,
"Accidents cost, so employees were paying themselves to be safe."
Benefits of SHARP: The company reports workers' compensation premiums
have gone down and productivity is up.
