At ORISE, partnering to strengthen our nation’s research and development enterprise and to advance science education initiatives is at the center of our identity and builds upon our unique capabilities in:
- Providing a nationwide network of health resources, analyzing the long-range health outcomes of current and former workers exposed to occupational hazards
- Ensuring public trust and confidence in environmental cleanup, providing the highest quality independent verification assessments and radiological surveys
- Specializing in the medical management of radiation accidents or incidents, providing hands-on expertise and training through the Radiation Emergency Assistance Center and Training Site
- Strengthening national security and emergency response, providing custom assessment tools and exercises for radiological/nuclear incident response and terrorism preparedness
- Protecting workers, the public, and the environment through health education, health communication and specialized professional training
- Partnering to create a pipeline of future scientists and engineers as a national leader in science education program management
- Ensuring the quality and relevance of federally funded research through independent and objective reviews of research proposals
