Interim Recommendations for the Selection and Use of Protective Clothing and
Respirators Against Biological Agents. (2001, October 25). Provides CDC
recommendations for protective clothing and respirators. Protective clothing,
including gloves and booties, also may be required for the response to a
suspected act of biological terrorism. Protective clothing may be needed to
prevent skin exposures and/or contamination of other clothing. The type of
protective clothing needed will depend upon the type of agent, concentration,
and route of exposure.
- Updated Information About How to Recognize and Handle a Suspicious Package or Envelope.

2 pages. Provides instructions
to prevent exposures and subsequent infection from agents transported in
suspicious mail. All
persons should
learn how to recognize a suspicious package or envelope and

Emergency Response. American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). Links to educational resources, emergency-related

Emergency Preparedness and Response Task Force. Links to AIHA
recommendations for protecting workers in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina
and Rita, other hurricane information, emergency response documents including
AIHA's position on roles and responsibilities of AIHA hygienists in emergency
preparedness and response, an IH deployment checklist, a list of references to
be saved on a flash drive, asafety officer checklist, and a safety worksheet.

Emergency Response Planning Committee. Develops Emergency Response
Planning Guidelines (ERPGs) for
responding to potential releases of airborne substances for use in community
emergency planning. These are brief summaries and estimates of
tolerable-effect thresholds, not intended as exposure recommendations, to
assist in the planning for accidental, episodic chemical releases.
- InterAgency Board.
Establishes and coordinates local, state, and federal standardization,
interoperability, compatibility, and responder health and safety to prepare
for, train and respond to, mitigate, and recover from any incident by
identifying requirements for an all-hazards incident response with a special
emphasis on Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear or Explosive (CBRNE)
issues.
- Responder Knowledge Base. Provides Emergency
Responders, purchasers, and planners with a trusted, integrated, on-line
source of information on products, standards, certifications, grants, and
other equipment-related information. The Responder Knowledge Base (RKB) is a web-based information
service for the
emergency responder community funded by the Department of
Homeland Security
and hosted by the National Memorial Institute for the
Prevention of
Terrorism (MIPT).
