Assisting Arkansas individuals, businesses and organizations that are experiencing difficulties with federal agencies is among my top priorities. My constituency services staff has helped countless individuals receive assistance with the Social Security Administration, Veterans Administration, Medicare and other government agencies. I cannot ask agencies to do anything they are unable to do under law, but I can make sure all of your rights are respected and errors in procedure are corrected. In order to bring greater transparency to the earmark process, I have posted my funding requests from Arkansans on this website. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will work closely with the entire Congressional delegation to secure these federal dollars for our state. However, it is important to note that these requests are not guaranteed funding. Funding will be tighter than in years past and each request must first be approved by the Senate Appropriations Committee, the full Senate, and the House of Representatives before the funding is signed into law by the President. The deadline for 2010 Appropriations Requests was March 16, 2009. If you have any questions concerning any aspect of the appropriations process, please call Price Feland at (202) 224-2353 or Susie James at (501) 324-6336.
