FOR YOUR INFORMATION................June 27, 1989 The Federal Trade Commission has approved Sun Co.'s proposed divestiture of light petroleum product terminals and related gasoline stations in the Binghamton, N.Y., and Williamsport, Penn., areas. The divestitures are required by a consent order settling charges that Sun's acquisition of Atlantic Petroleum Corp. could lessen competition in the distribution and marketing of gasoline and other light petroleum products in the two areas. Sun will divest the Atlantic terminal in Binghamton and nine related gas stations to Amerada Hess Corp., another oil company. It will sell another station there to Anthony V. Manley, who currently operates the station. Sun will divest the Williamsport terminal to The Belcher Co. of New York Inc., and five related gas stations to Coastal Mart Inc. Belcher and Coastal Mart are both owned by Coastal Corp.
