WebWise 2004: Sharing Digital
Resources
Conference Papers and Resources
Web-Wise 2004 was sponsored by the Institute of Museum
and Library Services and co-hosted by University of Illinois
at Chicgao. This year's theme was "Sharing Digital
Resources," focusing on the different meanings and
implications of “sharing” in the digital environment—from
technical issues of interoperability to the formation
of new partnerships to reach larger audiences. Held on
March 3-5 in Chicago the conference was attended by over
200 participants involved in the creation and use of digital
resources, including library, museum and archives professionals,
computer scientists, educators and learners.
To further extend the benefit of this conference, IMLS
presents here the papers from presenters at the conference.
The papers are reprinted with the kind permission of the
authors and First Monday, and first appeared in the May,
2004 issue of First Monday (volume 9, number 5) at http://www.firstmonday.org/issues/issue9_5.
