Clean Cities Reaches Its 15th Anniversary

The Clean Cities government-industry partnership celebrated 15 years of promoting the growth of alternative fuels and advanced technology vehicles. Richard Moorer, Associate Undersecretary of Energy, spoke about the partnership's accomplishments and presented awards to the first six Clean Cities coalitions. The anniversary event also included a video history presented by Motorweek's John Davis and a panel discussion with past and present Clean Cities representatives. Since 1993, the partnership has grown to 86 coalitions with 5,700 local stakeholders and reduced two billion gallons of petroleum.

A Vehicle Technologies deployment program within the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in the U.S. Department of Energy, Clean Cities has played a role in putting more than half a million alternative fuel vehicles on the road and constructing thousands of alternative refueling stations.
