322-68S10 Preventive Health Specialist Course: Medical zoology training is an essential component of this MOS-producing program of instruction. This branch trains soldiers the task-oriented skills they need to identify, evaluate, and safely control medically-important arthropods and rodents that pose human health risks during military operations. Also, the Medical Zoology Branch provides training to support the following AMEDD leadership and career management courses: Officer Basic Leadership Course, Captains Career Course, Principles of Military Preventive Medicine Course, and Preventive Medicine Program Managers Course.
DoD Pest Management Certification/Recertification Courses: These Tri-service courses are tailored to Department of Defense (DoD) 4150.07-P, Plan for the Certification of Pesticide Applicators. They provide federally-mandated, EPA-approved instruction encompassing arthropod-borne diseases, vector-prevention and control measures, arthropod and rodent survey techniques, principles and practices of integrated pest management, safe use and management of pesticides, and related regulatory issues.
DoD Pest Management Quality Assurance Evaluator / Installation Pest Management Coordinator Course: This course provides training to DoD contract administration and pest management personnel who are responsible in the administration and monitoring of commercial pest control contracts and services. Instruction includes pest management contracts (administration, surveillance, and documentation), laws and regulations in pest management, records and reporting requirements, integrated pest management, and control of medically important and nuisance pests.
