American Lung Associations Tobacco Cessation Facilitator Training
The Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine-Europe (USACHPPM-EUR) will conduct an 8-hour Tobacco Cessation training from 0800-1700. Participants will receive continuing education units/credits for the course. Upon completion of the workshop and passing a "teachback”, the participant will be certified as an American Lung Association Tobacco Cessation Instructor.

Compliance with the Joint Commission: Keeping Your Physical Environment Healthy - 2009
This course is geared to military/civilians working in the North Atlantic Regional Medical Command (NARMC) who are responsible for 1 or more of the Physical Environment Programs. This includes: Safety Managers/Security Officers/Facility Managers/Safety Committee Members/Emergency Management Coordinators/Environmental Science/Engineering Officers/Industrial Hygienists/Hazardous Waste Coordinators, & Medical Equipment Repairers.

Course Description
Advanced Ergonomics Course
This course is designed to be beneficial to installations that already have a well established ergonomics program and are looking to sharpen analysis skills as well as help jump start a newly started program, or are looking for guidance to the next step in the injury reduction process. Registration fee is $100.00. A copy of the 40-hour Applied Ergo certificate is requred & must be faxed to (410) 436-4158 or e-mailed to the
USACHPPM Training POC.
The maximum size for this class is 15. Seats will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. No one will be allocated a seat without providing a copy of the 40 Hour certificate.

AMEDD Center and School Courses
The mission of the AMEDD Center and School is to provide training in preventive medicine, behavioral sciences, and medical NBC defense to officers, warrant officers, enlisted, civilians, U.S. and allied personnel worldwide. Some funding may be available for the military. Six interactions of the Sexually Transmitted Disease Intervention Course is offered per year. The course is centrally funded for 68S, 91W and Nurses attending the 6A-F5 course.

Preventive Medicine Senior Leaders Course
The course emphasizes management skills and problem solving in preventive medicine. Subjects include resource management, force health protection, and employment of operational risk management techniques for preventive medicine.

Principles of Military Preventive Medicine (6A-F5) .
The training is for AMEDD officers of the active and reserve components whose actual or anticipated assignment is to a preventive medicine program or unit or to preventive medicine related duties within their specialty area.

Sexually Transmitted Disease Intervention Course (6H-F9/322-F9)
This course provides Army Medical Department and other military services enlisted personnel, officers, and DA/DoD civilians with the basic knowledge and skills essential to function as a Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS).

FY 2009 and 2010 dates are available on the Community Health Practices Branch website.

Applied Ergonomics - 40 Hour Course
The registration fee for this course is $200.00. This 40-hour course is designed to develop installation level expertise in ergonomics. It provides all of the background and materials necessary to initiate, conduct, and maintain an installation ergonomics program. The class size is limited to 25 - early application is encouraged. Upon registration, please start making arrangements to pay registration fee using one of the options discussed in the course description.

This link is for individuals needing DOEHRS training WHEN THERE ARE NO CLASSES SCHEDULED or they are marked as filled. By registering your training requirement between scheduled sessions, the Hearing Conservation Program Office will know who needs training and will try to match your availability with another training location - if possible, in your area.

Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System-Industrial Hygiene (DOEHRS-IH)
This course is designed to teach students to use the DOEHRS-IH information management system. DOEHRS-IH is a web-based application that is used to collect industrial hygiene survey information. In order to be eligible to attend, the pre-requisites listed in the course description must be completed and current. USACHPPM funding will be provided only to first-time DOEHRS-IH students.

This workshop is designed for ESOs who are currently assigned to a health care facility. We can accept other ESOs, evaluated on a case by case basis.

Food Safety and Protection Certification Course
The Food Safety and Protection Certification Course is a 40 credit hour online class. This is not a USACHPPM course. It is located within the U.S. Army Logistics Management College website. When you get to the ALMC homepage, select ALMC Blackboard from the menu on the left. You will need to use your AKO/DKO login ID and password to access the site. Scroll down to the course catalog section and click on Quartermaster - Courses. Scroll down the list until you come to the certification course.

Global Medicine Course
This site is for army applicants only. Other services please contact your service rep. The course emphasis is for the physician to be able to successfully design & implement a plan which minimizes the health risk of the endemic natural biologic hazards to a deploying or deployed force. To achieve this objective, lectures in epidemiology, deployment preparation, medical intelligence sources, and many infectious diseases are presented.

Course Description
Intermediate Industrial Hygiene Topics
Applicants must have a BS in a related field or attendance at the 6H-F11, "Basic Industrial Hygiene Course" presented at the AMEDD Center & School, Fort Sam Houston, Texas or attended an IH Course either through AIHA, OSHA or an accredited university. Course spaces are reserved for MEDCOM military and civilian personnel. Other qualified personnel can attend on a space available basis.

Introductory and Advanced Health Risk Communication, and Conflict Management Workshops
The Intro Workshop provides basic understanding of the concepts, principles, and process of effective risk communication. the Intermediate Workshop builds on basic understanding. The Conflict Management teaches dynamics, source of conflict & management of conflict.

Laser & Radiofrequency Hazards Course
This course is designed for Radiation Protection Officers, Safety Officers, and related health and safety personnel to provide a background for recognizing health risks from nonionizing radiation sources (radio frequency radiation and laser sources).

Military Tropical Medicine Course
This Form is for Army Personnel Only. The four-week curriculum covers a broad range of topics in tropical diseases, with corresponding laboratory sessions, including helminths, malaria and other protozoa. There is a comprehensive lab practical and written exam at the end of the course, as well as weekly lab quizzes. This is a military course and, as such, qualifies for entry in Section VI (Military Education) of the Officer Record Brief. Please see the course description for more information.

Pregnancy Postpartum Physical Training (PPPT) Train-the-Trainer Leader Course & Exercise Leader Training (ELT)
The PPPT Train-the-Trainer Leader Course provides guidance on establishing and operating a local PPPT consolidated installation program. The PPPT Exercise Leader Training provides training on the duties and responsibilities of exercise leaders. Attendees will learn how to design and lead daily exercise sessions for pregnant and postpartum soldiers.

USACHPPM will not be offering this class in the forseeable future. The Radiological Safety course sponsored by the U.S. Army Chemical School, Fort Leonard Wood, MO, will qualify an individual as a Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) or Radiation Control Officer (RCO). Registration is accessed via ATRRS.
Transport of Biomedical Materials
[This course is designed specifically for laboratory personnel who package and ship laboratory samples and specimens for transport.
