Bloomin' Butterflies is Back!
Now Open in Full Bloom

This year get close, get REAL close as you experience Bloomin’ Butterfly Gardens in living color this spring at Knoxville Zoo.  This one-of-a-kind experience allows you to immerse yourself in a flurry of butterfly kisses as these flying flowers get in your face!

   

Wee Play Zoo Exhibit Now Open!
New! For Your Wild Child

Wee Play Zoo, Knoxville Zoo's fun NEW interactive exhibit designed with toddler, pre-school and elementary school-aged visitors in mind, is now open in the Pilot Special Exhibit Building.  Wee Play Zoo lets kids run their own zoo, which has been scaled to just the right size for little ones. >>
 

   

Bear Awarness Day

Join us as we help celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park by highlighting our North American Black Bears in an event to bring Bear Awareness Week 2009 to a close. >>

   

Zoofari
Saturday, June 6
6:30 p.m. - Midnight

Zoofari, Knoxville Zoo's most important fundraiser, is held on the first Saturday in June. Guests enjoy a seated dinner, wild music, and a unique-to-the-zoo live auction. The event's generous community supporters help provide food, care, and enrichment for Knoxville Zoo's animals. >>

   

Animal Encounters:  Get Real Close!

Elephant Excursion, Giraffe Gathering, Penguin Party, Rhino Rendezvous

Back by popular demand, Animal Encounters will begin again on Saturday, May 23.  If you were not able to participate last year, it may have been because you couldn’t get a reservation!  If Animal Encounters is new to you, this wildly successful program presents exciting opportunities to “Get Real Close” to some amazing animals. >>
