The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) provides course materials, computer, and Web-based exercises, and video teleconferences to support the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) Specialized Information Services outreach programs.
Each course is designed to teach health professionals at all levels how to efficiently access, search, and use NLM’s extensive environmental health, toxicology, and medical databases.

National Library of Medicine (NLM)
The NLM, a part of the National Institutes of Health, reviews hundreds of government and non-government publications, brochures, databases, and Web sites in order to link the public with the most reliable and authoritative health information through medical and health information databases and other resources. Information about grant opportunities and research programs is also available.
Division of Specialized Information Services (SIS), National Library of Medicine (NLM)
SIS is responsible for information coverage and services for environmental health, toxicology, HIV/AIDS, and specialized topics in minority health. This site also provides access to an online Directory of Health Organizations (DIRLINE®).

TOXNET (TOXicology Data NETwork) is a cluster of free databases on environmental health, toxicology, hazardous chemicals, and toxic releases.

PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's search service that provides access to over 18 million citations from MEDLINE, NLM’s premier bibliographic database, and other life science journals. Links to full-text articles and other related resources are included.

MedlinePlus is a significant source of up-to-date, quality health care information for consumers. Resources include extensive information about drugs, an illustrated medical encyclopedia, interactive patient tutorials, and latest health news as well as health information in over 40 languages.tes in order to link the public with the most reliable and authoritative information.

AIDSinfo is a Department of Health and Human Services Web Site that provides the latest federally approved information on HIV/AIDS clinical research, treatment and prevention, and medical practice guidelines for consumers and health care providers.
