WHEN LIFE HAPPENS, TURN TO GOBIERNOUSA.GOV

Even though life slows down in the summer, life still happens. Maybe you’d like to make plans for a weekend daytrip. Or maybe you need to find help in case of extreme heat or storm damage. Whenever life happens this summer, turn to GobiernoUSA.gov, the U.S. government’s official Web portal in Spanish.

For example, GobiernoUSA.gov is your source for reliable information on going green. Whether you’re trying to save money on energy costs for your house or your car, you’ll find helpful tips. You’ll even find information about helping your whole community use less energy.

It’s often hard to find immigration information. Can you trust a private company? Which agency in the government is the right one to contact? GobiernoUSA.gov makes finding the status of your immigration case or making an appointment to speak with an Immigration Information Officer easy. You can do both (and lots more) online with easy-to-find links on the homepage.

If it’s in the news, you can find it on GobiernoUSA.gov. You can find information on the coming February 19, 2009 switch to digital TV, as well as links to free coupons for the converter boxes you’ll need to receive television signals after this coming February. You can learn more about the upcoming elections and the U.S. electoral process, or register to vote. Be sure to look for the boxes highlighting news items of interest and a monthly freebie offer.

There’s so much on GobiernoUSA.gov that it can be overwhelming. That’s why there are now guides to help you find your way. Watch and listen as you get step-by-step instructions on how to use some of the site’s most popular features, including getting government services online, reaching the right government offices, and searching to find exactly what you need from government Web sites.

You can also send an e-mail to GobiernoUSA.gov for special help. Click on “Contactos” to send an e-mail in Spanish, and you’ll get a response in two business days. Or pick up the phone and use the toll-free number, 1 (800) FED-INFO (that’s 1-800-333-4636) and choose option #2 to speak with an information specialist in Spanish. Specialists are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Life never takes a vacation, even during the summer. Luckily, neither does GobiernoUSA.gov. Official government information in Spanish is always a click away for whatever life throws your way.
